By this time of the year, Botswana should be in the dry season, which normally lasts until the end of October. Due to La Niña, however, heavy rainfalls didn’t stop until late April this year. There were still lots of puddles and pans in the bush and in the forest. With so much water, Chobe River looked like a lake. We camped in Khwai, Savuti and Chobe.
ボツワナは通常、3月初旬から10月末まで乾期。一滴の雨も降らない、はず。ところが今年はラニーニャ現象の影響で、4月末まで大雨が降ったという。ブッシュや森林には大きな水たまりがまだ多く残っていた。チョベ川はまるで湖のよう。今回はクワイ、サブチ、チョベでキャンプを張った。
